I
am Professor of Economics at Universitat
Rovira
i
Virgili and External Research Fellow of the Barcelona Graduate
School of Economics. Currently I am on sabbatical leave
at the Free
University
of
Berlin.
I obtained my Ph.D. in 2002
from
the Universitat
Autònoma de Barcelona after pursuing
undergraduate studies at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and
Université Louis Pasteur Strasbourg. Before joining in 2006 the
faculty
in Reus,
I visited during two years the Kellogg
School of
Management of Northwestern
University and taught at the Universidad de
Alicante as well as Universidad Carlos
III de Madrid. During my time in Reus, I visited twice the
Department
of Economics at the University of
California, Irvine for longer periods.
From 2009 to 2011, I served
as Director of Undergraduate Studies in Economics in the Dean's Office.
My research interests
include political economy, public economics,
incentives and health economics. My publications have appeared in the Journal of Public Economics and
the Journal of
the European Economic Association, among others.
